Ten people a day die from asthma and 750 die each year from severe allergic reactions. This is heartbreaking – and it doesn’t have to be this way.
This year we set an ambitious goal: ZERO preventable deaths due to asthma, severe allergies, COVID-19 and related conditions by the year 2030.

Your support will help us reach our goal!
Here’s how…

Lung health screenings, vaccinations and patient education in underserved communities

Patient education programs and partnerships with healthcare professionals who directly serve patients

Passage of federal, state and local laws that expand access to care and support community access to emergency medications

Support for research that leads to new or improved treatments – and possibly a cure

“Asthma is controllable. There is no reason for any of us to die of an asthma attack. All of us together, we can do better.”
- Laonis Gooden, RN, AE-C, at the 2021 USAsthma Summit
Laonis is a tireless advocate for asthma education. Her son, Anthony J. Chapman, tragically passed away from an asthma attack in 2007 at the age of 23. She continues to help raise awareness of the harmful impact that asthma disparities have had on communities of color.
